Staff of the USS ELBERT C LEE: CO Wrote his NPG thesis proposing that YPs could partol "the islands" and provide medical and legal aid, provide police laisson and communications assistance to islands with ham and low power AM or FM radio. HMCS Seal Proposed that a senior SEAL with 18D (Green Beret) medical training be XO and Medical person. Have HMCS Scott be in Pentagon when offered the job. He asked to meet his prospective CO. Meets CO at Academy where they go over YP 674, which had been rebuilt at Portsmouith VA and shipped by train to Anappiis. They get along well and he likes the plans. Brags about his British medical degree (Surgeon) The Brits require an MD degree before he Surgen degree. In my book, the Brits find the HMCS's HM trainingg and the 18D training plus Scott's iniitial RN degree as sufficiet tob allow him to enter the Surgeon training. I'll have to check my story to see where HMCS Scott was stationed before getting the call.... QM1 LN1 SSGT EN2 ET2 RM3
